Sheffield is one of the UK’s largest cities and has been transformed over the last 10 years with major investment in regeneration and infrastructure. One of the final pieces of the jigsaw to fulfil the Council’s Vision of being a modern vibrant city is to bring the city’s highway infrastructure up to standard.

In August 2012, Sheffield City Council appointed Amey as Service Provider for the 25 year Streets Ahead Highway Maintenance contract. This contract is to improve the condition of the highway network over the initial core investment period (5 years) and to sustain this condition over the remaining period (20 years). In addition to the maintenance work delivered through the Streets Ahead Contract, there will also be a considerable volume of New Works, primarily on the highway, e.g. Local Transport Plan Improvement Schemes, Regeneration Schemes and works by other promoters such as Utility companies.

These posts are in the Highway Maintenance Service with responsibility for highway maintenance in the City, primarily through the strategic and operational management of the Streets Ahead Contract and also the delivery and/or programming of New Works taking place on the network.

The Council is looking for suitably experienced people with drive, enthusiasm and commitment to fill the following posts:
